Psycho-Educational Testing Services

What is Psycho-Educational testing?

Psycho-Educational testing is a series of psychological and educational assessments, administered in a one-on-one environment.

These tests -- recognized by school systems for justifying additional educational services – can be used to determine:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Executive Dysfunction
  • Specific Learning Disabilities
  • Nonverbal Learning Disorders
  • Cognitive strengths and weaknesses

How will testing help?

Having a medical or educational diagnosis is the starting point for services within the public school system. Psycho-educational testing can provide the information needed to secure special education services, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan.

Which professionals do the testing?

Our testing team consists of highly trained psychologists and educators that are familiar with the testing process and school systems.

What report do I get from the testing?

A formal report with diagnoses and recommendations for accommodations will be produced. The format used conforms to expectations of public school systems and can be presented to support a request for additional services.

What is the testing process?

The testing process, which can take up to two weeks, consists of:

  • 1 hour initial interview with parents
  • Scheduling of testing times
  • Classroom observation, if needed
  • Test administration
  • One-hour follow up meeting to review results

Testing times are variable and based on the child's specific needs.

What tests are used?

Tests used include, but are not limited to:

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - IV (WISC-IV)
  • Beery-BuktenicaDevelopemental Test of Visual Motor Integration
  • Attention Deficit Disorder Evaluation Scales
  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test II (WIATII)
  • Woodcock Johnson III (WJ-III)
  • Delis-Kaplan Executive Function Summary (D-KEF)
