Meet John Yearick, LCPC

Mary M. Dowling, LCSW-CJohn Yearick, LCPC, M.S., has been practicing therapy since 2015. He is currently practicing counseling at The Thrive Center for Emerging Young Adults. John believes that people can always change and improve their lives. Change comes one decision at a time and requires effort. John is here to help you identify the changes you want to make and implement a plan to bring those improvements into your daily life.

John's experience ranges from working with groups to individuals of all backgrounds. Since the start of his practice he has worked with people trying to make changes in their lives using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy. Over the past four years John worked in the substance abuse field, overseeing an adolescent program, and working with children and adults to help them enter and maintain their recovery.

John completed his undergraduate training from Frostburg State University and received a B.S. in Psychology. He then pursued graduate studies and obtained an M.S. in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore in 2015.

John is a new parent who spends much of his time with his wife and daughter. When he is not spending time with his family, he enjoys playing with his senior dog, exercising, and spending
